Following the recent utterances of Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka against Mr Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State and the Presidential Candidate of Labour party, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu has disassociated themselves from such utterances.
In a statement released on 16 June 2022 the Catholic Diocese of Enugu condemned the recent “inflammatory statement” of Rev. Fr. Mbaka, founder of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Enugu against Mr Peter Obi.
According to the statement, Mbaka went against the Canon code 220 and in violation of canon code 287. The statement noted that Mbaka’s utterances are his personal opinion and not the stance of neither Enugu Diocese nor the Catholic Church.
They further advised Fr. Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry Enugu to refrain from such utterances so as to keep him “united with the body of Christ.” And urged all lovers of God to continue praying for a successful election.
