
51 Traditional Rulers of newly created autonomous communities in Imo State has received their Certificate(s) of Recognition and Staff of Office from Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State noted that
The fabric of our society as Ndi Igbo, lies within our tradition and as custodians, the Traditional Rulers remain reverenced and the closest institution to the people.
While describing the event, he stated that:
Today, at the Exco Chambers, 51 Traditional Rulers of the newly created Autonomous Communities in the State were issued Staff of Offices and Certificates of Recognition. This development complements our grassroots initiative of bringing governance closer to the people.
He further charged the new Traditional Rulers to remain fair and just in the discharge of their sacred obligations while partnering with the Government in the maintenance of peace, law and order within their jurisdiction and across the State.
