ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION INCONCLUSIVE…THEN – Fred Chukwuelobe
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expectedly declared last Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State inconclusive.
Reason being that there was no election in Ihiala LGA and being that the margin between the main contender and his closest rival is not enough to cancel out Ihiala with over one hundred and forty votes.
If you’re a pundit on elections, please note that, the fact that Ihiala has over one hundred and forth registered voters doesn’t mean all of them will come out on Tuesday November 9, 2021, and vote. Even if the turnout is huge, they will not all vote for the parties in second (PDP) and the third (APC); the party in the lead, APGA, will also get votes.
If fifty thousand come out, that’s a huge number and the votes will be shared among the candidates. Outside that, somebody has rigged for somebody.
So, do your punditry along that line and write and hold your congratulatory letters because Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo is going to be officially declared governor-elect.
They will get votes. He will get votes after the supplementary election tomorrow, Tuesday November 9, 2021, and increase his lead.
Since it’s only Ihiala that will be voting, all eyes will be on the LGA. Security will be tight to stop riggers from concocting votes.
Those hoping to upturn the already won election will call emergency press conferences and tell us cock and bull stories. It’s the way of elections here.
That’s my own punditry.
