APC Leadership Tussle: Anambra APC Rejects Just Concluded Congress, Insists 2018 Officials Remains in  Charge of The Party

Hush Gist January 31, 2022

As the APC Leadership Tussle in Anambra State heightens, a fraction of the Anambra State Chapter of the party has rejected the just concluded Congress in the state while insisting that the 2018 Excos of the party remains the real Excos of the party.

Recall, that the All Progressive Congress, APC, Anambra State Chapter are currently in a leadership tussle as to whether it Ngige or Andy Uba who is the authentic Leader of the party in Anambra State. This has greatly created fraction in the party as some had moved with Ngige while others stayed with Andy Uba.

The Andy Uba fraction had recently conducted a Congress and elected new Excos which has been rejected in a statement issued by Okelo Madukaife, APC State Publicity Secretary.

The statement reads:

2018 OFFICIALS REMAIN IN CHARGE OF ANAMBRA APC

Our dynamic chapter of APC has come a very long way from the days of its winning legacy parties, through being the first chapter to contest elections with the brand APC, till date.

With that history behind us as a foremost chapter, we will never join anyone however high or low, or from whichever clime in Nigeria to disobey any court of competent jurisdiction.

As a response to myriads of enquiries to the effect, we wish to clarify that our chapter has not engaged in any congress for purposes of electing new officials.

Hence all our officials as elected on May 5,May 12 and May 19,2018, which by the resolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our party are in charge of affairs in our chapter remain in place, except as removed within the terms of our constitution.

Hence, we would not deny any group its right to the creation of a circus, but our chapter is currently under the firm management of its subsisting officials.

It is needless to state that we are properly led by Senator Chris Ngige.

In that wise, aside legal issues, every pretext to election of officials in 326 wards, 21 local government areas, three Senatorial Districts and the State Executive Council, as reported in any medium, whatsoever is hereby disclaimed.

No subversion from any extra-Anambra intervention can alter this equation, nor make us succumb to intimidation or deviate from the collective aspiration of the South East under APC, even if we some black legs within are temporarily in the foreground, setting fire to their father’s house.

In the same vein, no imported vice or misdemeanor, alien to the 10 core values that make up our *Code of Ethics*, understandably unknown to the antibodies in our great chapter will be allowed to take root.

All officials are to proceed with their normal duties and await further directives from the subsisting state executive, headed in the time being by *Mr. Chukwuma Agufugo,* and ably led by Sen Dr. Ngige.
