Anambra State Association of Town Unions, has commended the Speaker, Anambra House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Episeni Uche Victor Okafor for nullifying Anambra International Airport Judiciary employment. According to the lawmaker, the purported employment did not follow due process and standard hence, any employment already made or in progress for the State Airport and Ministry of Justice should be nullified. The Legislatures however, stated in clear terms that no State fund shall be spent to pay off salaries of staff purportedly employed or in the process of being employed at the Anambra International Cargo And Passenger Airport and Ministry of Justice respectively.
Consequently, the National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions Hon. Barr Akpudo Titus opined that the hidden employment is against the spirit of oneness and similarly if not tackled can destabilize the unity in the State. He maintain that it is unworthy if ASATU as a body shall not be duly carried along in the course of employing people at the Airport or Judiciary. He however, put words that communities in the State shall be given a minimum SLOT of five person’s for the job opportunity since the Airport was built with Anambra people’s money while specially appealing to the State Governor to consider the request.
In addition, Barr Akpudo describe the vibrant lawmaker as an oriented individual and having demonstrated good sense of integrity and leadership which comparatively shows the competency of the Legislators and other members of the house.
