
Delta State Governor Appoints Harrison Gwamnishu As member Youth Representative, Delta State Human Rights Complaint Committee
The Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has appointment Harrison Gwamnishu, Founder, Behind Bars Human Rights Foundation, who was released from prison in 2015 after charged of a crime he never committed, as member Youth Representative Delta State Human Rights Complaint Committee saddled with the responsibility of protecting the RIGHTS of citizens and ensuring that Police officers respect the rights of all Deltans during their operations.
Few days ago, Harrison Gwamnishu had taken to his Facebook page to make this great announcement. He stated:
CALL TO SERVE
Today I was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, as member Youth Representative Delta State Human Rights Complaint Committee saddled with the responsibility of protecting the RIGHTS of citizens and ensuring that Police officers respect the rights of all Deltans during their operations.
For the past six years, as a civil leader heading BEHIND BARS Human Rights Foundation. Without Government support, My team and I have carried our duties diligently and ensured citizens are free from oppression and brutality.
The state Government led by Governor Ifeanyi A. Okowa found me worthy to serve the people and I must do all I can to protect the people’s interest.

Harrison Gwamnishu is well known to have undertaken many cases of Police Brutality and false accusations. He has done these through his foundation, Behind the Bars Foundation since he left prison in 2015.
Many believes this appointment will serve as a bigger opportunity to secure freedom for the unjustly treated.
