
Examination Malpractice: UNIBEN School Management Orders Female Graduate To Repeat From 200 Level
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) had earlier probed one of her female graduates for examination malpractice. The female student had on her signing out day, worn a shirt boldly written “aggressive malpractice brought me this far”
It is usually customary for Nigerian students to wear a white shirt on the day of their final exams. Friends and anyone is allowed to celebrate with them by signing on their white shirt.
After the management of the University of Benin had found the trending picture/ video of her student (identified as Peace Ufuoma, from the department of Microbiology) who on her signing out day had worn a white t-shirt with that awkward inscription, the management had began an investigation on all her results and after a supposed careful investigation, had ordered her to rewrite all her papers from 200 level to 400 level for allegedly engaging in examination malpractice.
The School Management after various meetings had on Thursday, 13th July, 2021, issued a press statement stating that the said Student is to repeat all her exams from 200 level to 400 level.
According to them, she is to serve as a scape goat to other students and a warning that UNIBEN is not know for malpractice.
