
I am still The Governor Of Ebonyi State — Umahi Rejects Court Ruling
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Governor Dave Umahi has rejected the ruling of an Abuja Federal High Court which removed him from office as the Governor of Ebonyi State.
A court ruling earlier this after, presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo has in a Court sitting at the Federal High Court Abuja sacked Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Deputy, Dr Eric Kelechi Igwe, following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to All Progressive Congress, APC.
Umahi who rejected the court ruling while that he is still the governor of the state.
The governor said the ruling would be disregarded by his followers.
Addressing journalists in his office in Abakaliki, Governor Umahi described the ruling as “jungle justice that was purchased.” and has maintained that such ruling was not a good development for the Judiciary.
‘We will not obey the ruling, we will obey the ruling of a competent court of equal level…He (Justice Ekwo) has murdered justice in this country, and he would be remembered and his generation for this jungle justice, which has no leg to stand. I’m still the governor of Ebonyi state and he no powers to remove me’
