Jude Okeke Is The National Chairman of APGA- Imo State High Court Affirms
As the legal battle for supremacy and authentic candidacy/ leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) continues, there has been another court judgment against the Oye faction of the party this afternoon.
According to the judgement issued by Justice B. C. Iheka in Owerri this afternoon, the court has validated the National Convention of APGA which took place on May 31, 2019 in Owerri, where Chief Edozie Njoku was elected as the National Chairman of APGA and Jude Okeke as the Deputy National Chairman of APGA.
This judgement also validated the NEC meeting of June 15, where Jude Okeke was appointed the Acting National Chairman of APGA and all the actions of the NEC including the suspension of Victor Oye , Soludo, Obidigwe and other APGA leaders.
The court went ahead to order INEC to deal with only Jude Okeke as the Acting National Chairman of APGA and accept the outcome of the primary election of APGA held on July 1, 2021 where Hon Chukwuma Umeoji emerged as the candidate of the party.
The Owerri high court asked INEC to continue recognizing Hon Umeoji as the candidate of APGA for November 6 Anambra state governorship election.
With this judgement, the Court is saying that Jude Okeke remains the National Chairman of APGA and as such, Hon Chukwuma Umeoji, the authentic candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the forth coming Anambra Gubernatorial Election of November 6 2021.
Recall that a Jigawa High Court had earlier confirmed the leadership of Jude Okeke as the party’s National Chairman.
