The New Nigeria People’s Party have today on its Twitter handle issued a statement regarding the Obi Kwankwaso ticket.

Accordingly to the statement on the party’s Twitter handle, the party stated that Nigerians should avoid the rumours that it’s Presidential Candidate Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso has agreed to deputize the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

They further noted that discussions are still ongoing and as such, the rumours should be disregarded.

Recall that few days ago, we brought reports of ongoing negotiations between presidential candidates of Labour Party and NNPP for possible grounds for coalition ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Supporters are optimistic that their coalition would be a third force in the 2023 Presidential Elections.

Below is the full statement:

Dear Nigerians,

Kindly ignore the rumors circulating online that, our esteemed presidential candidate, H.E. Sen. Dr. Rabiu Musa #Kwankwaso has agreed to deputize H.E. @PeterObi, in the upcoming presidential race.

The leadership of both #NNPP & #LP are still discussing, and have not finalized terms and conditions, yet.

We wish to categorically inform you that, agreements are yet to be reached. The rumors, as circulated, are unfounded, and gravely misleading.

Together, we shall build strong, progressive and egalitarian democratic society.
