In the early hours of today, we got information that the Idemili North Local Government Headquarters in Ogidi, Anambra State was attacked by some unidentified Gunmen.
According to reports, they had set the building ablaze.
Also, the PHCN Office in Enugu and Magistrate Court was also burnt down.
Several other government facilities were also destroyed.
This is coming few days after the executive governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB in his DSS detention facility in Abuja to discuss possible ways to enhance peace and security in the state.
Recall that since his detention in the DSS facility, some group of unidentified Gunmen have declared and enforced a Sit-At-Home order for every Monday in Southeast.
They have in similar ways attacked Aguata and Nnewi South Local Government Headquarters and destroyed scores of properties.
It is wise that a strong security unit should be deployed to other Local Government Headquarters for avert future attacks on other Local Government Secretariats and enhance security of lives and properties.
