My Deputy Was Not Imposed On Me; Val Ozigbo Addresses Journalists/ Influencers
Yesterday, August 02, 2021, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, PDP Governorship Candidate for the Novermber 6 Governorship Election in a bid to interact with newsmen, has hosted Social Media Influencers and Journalist at Grand East Hotel, Awka.
Recall that Valentine Chineto Ozigbo emerged as the candidate for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP after the keenly contested primaries of the party. But days later, was dragged to court by aggrieved aspirant and a factional candidate who Valentine Ozigbo addressed as “someone who did contest the election.”
In the meeting held at Grand East Hotel, Awka with a turn up of Media houses, bloggers and influencers, Ozigbo briefed the attendees on the current situation of things and advised media practitioners to avoid rumours which are mainly intented in tarnishing the good image of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and his campaign.
Ozigbo further explained the extent he and his team had gone in addressing issues with the aggrieved aspirants. He stated that a lot has already been achieved and that most of the candidates who lost out in the primaries are still with the party.
On the issue of Deputy, Ozigbo stated that contrary to the rumours, a deputy was not imposed on him. He cleared the air on the rumours that his God fathers had imposed a Deputy on him. He clearly stated that he has no God father and that his Deputy of Anglican Dominion was chosen himself after series of consultations and screenings.
He also explained the current situation of the court cases while noting his confidence on his legal team. Ozigbo explained the different court cases and all steps taken so far in addressing the cases. He is confident of victory at the court and the Novermber 6 Governorship Election.
He addressed questions from people present and assured them of his readiness to work with them while noting that the core mission of his campaign is built around the Youths and women.
According to him, his campaign revolves around the youths and women. It is no wonder he has picked a female as Deputy and has structed most of his campaign team around the youths. He also noted his belief in the capacity of the media and advised the media Influencers and newsmen present, to work with him for a greater Anambra State.
