As political parties gear up for the next General elections in the country which has been scheduled by INEC to take place in the first quarters of 2023, Oyi LGA whose turn it is to produce the next lawmaker to represent the federal constituency for a two term of eight (8) years as according to the zoning arrangement existing between the two sister Local Government Areas of Oyi and Ayamelum, will settle for a consensus candidate.
Political leaders, stakeholders and other leaders of thought including youth and religious based groups have given their consent and support for a consensus candidate and one with clout, strength, leadership foresight and must have handshake across the Constituency.
This decision is uniform across Oyi LGA as major political parties will in the first quarters of next year declare her total support for the choice candidate.
I am saying this with all sense of responsibility and political correctness; we will build synergy with parties across the Constituency and declare unanimous support for a capable hand who will drive the wheels for us in the next eight years of representation.
Our primary concern is to ensure that power returns to Oyi in 2023 and that is the reason for the consensus.
We urge the people of Ayamelum to show support and solidarity to anyone that will emerge the candidate from Oyi Local Government and return equal support they have benefited from us since 2015.
