PDP CRISIS: Abuja High Court Orders INEC Not To Publish The Name Of Any PDP Candidate
There’s currently tension in PDP, especially in the camp of Valentine Ozigbo, the factional candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as an Abuja High Court issues an order mandating INEC not to publish the name of anyone as the candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for November 6 Anambra State Governorship election.
PDP’s crisis has continued to grow since after the respective factional primary elections which had produced two factional candidates who have both tried to use the court in proving the authenticity of their candidacy. As a result, there has been series of court injunctions. Recall that just yesterday, it was reported that the restraining order from the state High Court Awka which had earlier stopped the publication of Ozigbo as the candidate of PDP was not renewed by Justice Obiorah Nwabunike after it elapsed.
Ozigbo had gone to the court and asked the court to grant him an order asking INEC to publish his name and not that of any other candidate. And that PDP should not tamper with the name which was submitted to INEC on June 2nd.
But the court seems to have turned against him and has gone ahead to ask INEC not to publish the name of any PDP candidate.
Does this mean that PDP may not produce any candidate for the November 6 Governorship Election?
