PDP Members Protests at High Court Awka
With the unfolding events in The Anambra Governorship race and the Anambra State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), there has been two fractions in PDP and both fractions had produced a candidate each for the November 6 Anambra State Governship Election. Ever since the Primaries that produced Valentine Ozigbo and Chris Uba respectively, there has been different court cases, a struggle for the authentic candidate.
At the State High Court Awka, today, a group of PDP members under the umbrella of Independent Leaders Forum, (ILF) have protested against the order issued by Justice Obiorah Nwabunike
Recall that few days ago, the PDP fraction of Chris Ubah had gotten a restraining order asking PDP not to parade Val Ozigbo as the party’s candidate.
In some of the placards, the group had accused the judge of conspiring with Ibeto and Chief Chris Uba to issue a restraining order on PDP and Val Ozigbo.
In their claims, the exparte order granted by the court stopping PDP from submitting the name of Val Ozigbo as the candidate and flag bearer of the party for November 6 Anambra State Governorship election is against section 87(10) of the electoral act.
They’re also demanding PDP to Sack Chief Chris Uba while stating that the “Judiciary is not a Supermarket” and that “justice is not for sale.”
Also, there’s currently an ongoing protest by the Students of Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka against a purported School Fees Hike.
