PEACEFUL PROTEST BY THE STUDENTS OF PLATEAU STATE POLYTECHNIC TURNS BLOODY
The Plateau State Polytechnic Students were scheduled to start their exams today Monday 20/09/2021, Time table was out and students were ready. On reaching, the school informed the students that they are on strike. Students tired of everything, most students are supposed to have long gone for service and some to have finished their course, they have been in a class since 2019 up till now in same class. Students immediately started a peaceful protest of “NO EXAMS NO ROAD” in both Jos Campus and Main Campus. Some security personnels came and left, trying to calm students down but they refused.
According to an eye witness report, the security personnel on bikes came and were moving ruthlessly and had allegedly opened fire on the protesting students, some ran back to the school, the bullet met some students and it hit a boy straight on the head, bruised some, that not being enough they opened teargas to students, some fainted some were able to out run it. This security followed students into the school and were still shooting. Students are still in hospital and school clinic receiving treatment, please 🙏pray for them.
