Poor Photography/ Cinematography Will Mess Up Your Event; Photographer Cries Out
A photographer by name, Praise-Legend Onwuachu has on his Facebook page today, cried out over actions of some clients and reactions to photographers.
According to him, most clients want quality jobs yet are not willing to pay professional photographers for their professionalism.
For him, emphasis needs to be laid on payment and professionalism.
Below is the post on as written on his Facebook wall:
This isn’t said enough. Normally, a professional photographer (just one photographer) shoots an event with 2 camera bodies and 2/3 lens. So, multiple this by 2/3.
This is excluding other accessories that run into 100s of thousands.
These days, when people tell me they are planning trad and white and they budgeted 200k for both events(photography and Cinematography ooo), I smile.
Because I understand them. I understand that they still see professional photography from the eyes of ‘oga Okey photography’ nno na streeti fa in 1995.
I understand that things are hard. And money is hard to come by.
I understand that they’ve spent a lot of money already in buying drinks and food for the event.
I understand that when they went to the market to buy things needed for the event, the sellers refused to sell at the price they were selling last year.
I understand that photography isn’t important to them.
BUT
I’m not shooting that event.
Because I only shoot for people who prioritize photography.People who understand that what I shoot is different from ‘oga Okey photography’.
People who know that after all the money spent on events, bad photography/Cinematography messes up everything.
People who know that quality photography costs real money.
These days, I try to be more understanding, before sending you a message, apologizing that we are sorry, we only take jobs where quality is valued.
Rush me dears, if you understand the role professional photography/Cinematography plays in your event.
