
Prof Justice Peter Umeadi Hosts Awka Literary Society
Saturday, August 21 2021 will remain memorable in the lives of members of the Awka Literary Society and guests who graced the occasion as Prof Justice Peter Umeadi, Ezeotosi, former Chief Judge of Anambra State and Patron of Awka Literary Society played host to the great poets of Awka Literary Society and other guests who came around for the Dinner night and poetry reading at his country home in Nri, Anambra State.
Recall, that Prof Justice Peter Umeadi, Ezeotosi, former Chief Judge of Anambra State is an APGA Presidential Aspirant for the 2023 Presidential Election and Patron of the Awka Literary Society. He is a great lover of poetry. He was the longest serving chief Judge and a visiting professor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN.
The Event, Return to Idoto 3; a festival of Poetry which started on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Finotel Hotel, Awka was organised in honor of the prolific poet, Christopher Okigbo, unarguably the father of African Poetry. This event also attracted poets from the West and other regions of the country.
The dinner hosted by Prof Justice Peter Umeadi marked the end of the beautiful event. At the event, Umeadi appreciated everything present for honoring the invitation and making the event a memorable one. He emphasized on the importance of such events, appreciated the Awka Literary Society for considering him as their Patron and promised to always be available for them.
The high point of the event was the poetry reading by Poets present. There was poetry reading by James Eze, Winner of 2020 ANA Poetry Prize and Founder of Awka Literary Society of Nigeria. Other Poets also read their poet.
There was plenty to eat and drink for everyone
