There have been allegations that late Osinachi Nwachukwu who is popularly known for her song, Ekwueme had died as a result of Domestic violence.

Sequel to this and following a report of possible homicide to the FCT Police Command, her husband, Mr Peter Nwachukwu was arrested on April 10th.

The gospel singer had died on April 8 at the National Hospital in Abuja, where she was being treated for alleged throat cancer. Although it is still believe that she had died of possible lingering domestic violence

Since her death, there has been so many comments and demands as to why the late Gospel Artist didn’t divorce her husband earlier.

Reacting to this, Chiemerie, a brother to the late gospel artist, has disclosed that she opted to stay in the abusive marriage due to how her followers would perceive her.

He said she was trying to avoid people from describing her as a divorced minister and further accused the husband of killing his sister slowly.

Speaking with newsmen, Chiemerie said:

“I know Osinachi very well. She is very quiet and God-fearing. She was going through all these and she refused to tell me because I would have known what to do.

“She was just hiding all these things so people will not talk about her and say she is divorced. So, the man was dealing with her and she was dying slowly.”
