Re:Letter Of Resignation from Chief Michael Okechukwu (On Social Media).
The above subject matter refers :
SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT
Dear Chief Micheal Okechukwu ,
Our attention has been drawn to your letter of resignation which you served us through the social media and we wish to thank you for your services while you were with us .
In the words of Malcolm X ,
“the one thing that is worse than death is betrayal. You see, I could conceive death, but I could not conceive betrayal.”
From your Facebook post on the social media platform announcing your exit from the UbahNation family and the young progresives party (YPP) , you proudly listed all the lofty positions of responsibility that you held in trust as a young man while with us as follows
~ Deputy State chairman, Young Progressives Party (YPP), Anambra State.
~ Cordinator , Ifeanyi Ubah Solidarity Movement (IUSM )
~ Technical adviser on political matters .
One can safely deduce from the above the level of trust and confidence that must have been reposed in you while your journey with this political family lasted.
Dear Chief Okechukwu , I will like to remind you at this juncture that several other politicians also jumped ship from their political parties during the rundown to the gubernatorial elections of November including the Deputy Governor of the State, as well as many members of the State house of assembly. Fortunately, non of them resigned on the social media. The trail blazing young progresives party (YPP) also suffered this same fate as a key member and leader of one of its affiliate associations was also bought over and decamped albeit silently ..
The difference in the activities as pointed out above and yours is that while the others were man enough to make their moves open before the polls, you did not only chose to stay behind during the polls but also your activities after has since opened up a flood gate of reports that you carried out subversive acts from the inside. Whatever consideration or carrot that was dangled before you to warrant your movement away from your positions of trust were obviously not enough, you just had to wait and also take the huge sums of money running into millions meant for election logistics and welfare of our party agents in your local government and switched off your phones while the polls lasted . We also got reports on how you moved the vehicles purchased for you by the Distingushed Senator to safe locations and has since cut off all communications with the Senator.
Dear Chief Okechukwu, do you not think that your current decision to now go public and announce your movement to the party (APGA) that signed you before the polls rather than joining them silently is akin to also kicking the groin of a body that you have already stabbed to death from the behind ? .
Or Is this another gambit to position yourself for appointment in the incoming Government as reward for playing the Brutus against a Macbeth that saw you as an ally by using the Curriculum Vitae (CV) of “former this” and “former that” which you enjoyed while with him ? .
Where is our stand as youths and drivers of change in our society when we engage in brazen acts like this with dead conscience ? .
While we wish you all the best in your future engagements, it is also important that you be reminded that resignations are not done on the virtual pages of the social media and that upon proper resignation to the organisation that employed your services , it is also expected that you handover every property of the organisation back to them. It is on record that up till date , you have refused all quiet entreaties to account for the monies placed in your custody for the welfare of our ward and local government agents in Anyamelum local government that you abandoned and left stranded on the day of the election. You have rather been busy attacking some individuals in the party for insisting that you do the right thing by rendering account .
During the conversation that i had with you on this subject, you may recall that I advised that since you had blatantly refused to face the post election committee set up by the party that invited you to render account , that you go directly to your principal that reposed so much confidence on you for a clear conscience they say fears no accusation and give him account of your stewardship during the polls .You have since ignored this piece of advice.
Do i need mention that referring to yourself as the “political ogodomiogodo” in your social media post while not managing to secure up to five votes in your polling unit tells an unpalatable story of either a manifest lack of capacity or an outright sellout .
I am sure that you are surprised that Senator Ubah has since adopted the silent treatment and equanimity to the acts of betrayals that he got during the polls. I will explain his mindset with the following quote from Trent Shalton.
”Life has taught me that you can’t control someone’s loyalty. No matter how good you are to them, doesn’t mean that they will treat you the same. No matter how much they mean to you, doesn’t mean that they’ll value you the same. Sometimes the people you love the most, turn out to be the people you can trust the least.” –Trent Shalton
Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah’s foray into politics is simply to serve humanity , eradicate poverty especialy from our youths as well as the elderly and act as a change agent in a society that has become ravaged by soulless men with no second address or qualification except expertise in plundering resources meant for public good .Since he is not in politics for personal aggrandisement or benefit of any sort , acts of betrayals of this nature will definitely not deter him from continuing to toe this path of human capacity development in line with his pact with God .
Do well to ponder on the pointers highlighted on this letter my dear friend and do the needful in order to properly resign with a clear conscience .
I wish you Godspeed .
Kamen Chuks Ogbonna
Head Media and Strategic Communications to Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah.
