The 3 Awka Comedians Were Kidnapped By Fulani Herdsmen
Earlier in the week, we reported of three Awka Comedians who were kidnapped along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and a ransom of 20 million naira demanded.
Yesterday, the 3 Kidnapped Awka Comedians were released after joint efforts from family and friends to secure their release.
Although we still await official statement from the kidnapped victims, one of the key fighters for the release of the kidnapped victims Chimezie Okeke, have alleged that they were kidnapped by Fulani Herdsmen.
According to his post on his Facebook page, he stated thus:
I’ve always read Fulani kidnapping stories from an outsider’s perspective until now it hit close to home.
Two nights ago, Prince Neche, Mc Apostle and Mc 2mic were kidnapped by Fulani herdsmen along Enugu-Onitsha expressway on their way to Enugu to catch their flights.
Because they are comedians, most people ruled it off as a joke. But it wasn’t.
These kidnappers are running a business empire out of kidnapping. Neche and co reported that there were victims before them and probably some others will be kidnapped after them.
We’ve been able to negotiate their releaslse after 3 days. Our brothers are home, but it’s sad that
they were kidnapped, worse in their own Igboland by Fulani herdsmen.
Fulani herdsmen are kidnapping our brothers and sisters here in the east. We are not safe.
These guys are armed to the teeth using ammunitions I’m not sure our police have.
Please let this go round.
This is really a sad one.
We thank God they’re back and safe.
God help us.
