
The Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha Ordains 19 Priests Today
Today 10th July 2021 at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha, Hush Gist reporter witnessed the Priestly Ordination of 19 Priests.
It was indeed a moment of joy for families, friends and well wishers who gathered at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha to Witness glorious exhibition of the Catholic Faith as 19 Priests were ordined today in the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, Anambra State.
During the homily, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Archbishop Valerian Okeke, the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha and the Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Archbishop Okeke who also marked 40th years anniversary of Priesthood, reminded the newly ordained Priests of their mission as servants. According to him, they are ordained to be servants, not just in their priesthood and within the confines of the Church and service to God, but also in their dealings with other individuals. He further described Priesthood as a vocation that demands selfless service devoid of materialism.
He further advised the newly ordained Priests to live a worthy life and follow the teaching of the Catholic church while also advising the church faithfuls to desist from being a stumbling block to the newly ordained Priests and other priests at Large. But rather, to give the priests and other clergies the needed support.
The ordained priests will be visiting their various home parishes tomorrow to celebrate their first masses.
Indeed the Catholic Church is expanding everyday and winning more souls for the creator.
