
Valentine Day: Hushpuppi May Get 20 years Jail on Valentine’s Day for $24m fraud.
The United States Attorney’s Office will sentence a popular social media influencer Ramon Abbas Olorunwa ( aka Hushpuppi) for fraudulent activities of $24 millions,on February 14th, 2022.
Last year, July 2021, the court indicated that the social media influencer, Hushpuppi would face 20 years imprisonment, and there would be need of indemnity.
According to the online medium Neusroom, Hushpuppi has been on detention for two years in Dubai, the united Arab Emirates and Los Angeles in the United States. He will know his fate on February 14th, 2022 which is Valentine’s Day.
Moreover, Hushpuppi, 37 years old well known influencer, is being known for his lavish lifestyle on Instagram with about 2.5 million followers.
He was found guilty on April 20th. According to Neusroom, the united states department of justice confirmed the date in an email on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022.
The documents also stated that, Hushpuppi attempted theft of $1.1 million from someone that wanted to fund a new children’s school in Qatar. The court records shows, he pleased guilty to this charges on 20th April.
Therefore, Hushpuppi was arrested on June 2020,in Dubai,where he lived.
The United States Attorney, Tracy Wilkinson said that Hushpuppi and others faked the financing of the school and was “involved in playing the roles of the bank officials and creating a bogus website”.
They bribed a foreigner, to keep the elaborate pretence going after the victim was tipped off”. They played a significant roles in the scam “funded his luxurious lifestyles by laundering illicit proceeds generated by con Artist”.
The Acting Directior of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI’s) Kristi Johnson, Los Angeles office, stated that Hushpuppi was one of the “most popular money launderers in the world”.
His lifestyle status and ability to make connections seeped into legitimate organization and was led to several spin_off schemes in the United States and abroad.
His guilty appeal was “a crucial blow to the international network”.
