
Vigilante Officers Arrest Killers of Lecturer In Jos
The Plateau State Command of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) have arrested eight suspected hoodlums who are members of a gang known as Sara-Suka in Jos North Local Government Area of over the murder of a lecturer with the Federal University, Gashua, Yobe State, Sani Mazadu.
The lecturer, according to the VGN, was killed alongside a vigilante officer, Suleiman Sa’adu, during a clash between two rival gangs in last month.
In a statement by the Jos North LGA Commandant of VGN, Sani Kachalla, the eight suspected hoodlums are between the ages of 16 and 20, have been known to be behind many cases of attacks on innocent citizens, armed robbery, kidnapping and other forms of trouble in some communities in the Council.
Chairman of Jos North LGA, Shehu Usman, commended the officers and men of the VGN for their effort in ensuring a crime-free society.
Usman added that his administration would continue to work closely with conventional and non-conventional actors to protect the lives and property of citizens.
