WOMEN INITIATIVE FOR GREATER ANAMBRA CELEBRATES SOLUDO, HONOURS PATRONS AND PATRONESSES
The support group, Women Initiative For Greater Anambra (WIGA) held a victory party and investiture of patrons and patronesses to celebrate the winning of the Governor Elect– Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim at the recently conducted and concluded Anambra State Governorship election.
The event, which witnessed a mass turnout of enthusiastic party members and teeming supporters of WIGA saw Hon Mrs Amaka Obi the Convener commending the Excos members, ward coordinators of the group for their solidarity and allegiance for APGA and Prof Chukwuma Soludo during the November 6th Gubernatorial Election while appealing to them to redouble their effort in their various roles for the party to enjoy a landslide victory in the State House of Assembly, Federal Representatives and Senatorial election in few.
Continuing, Hon Amaka urges the members to remain focused for a united Anambra State, stressing that the state is essentially one family, admired for its inclusive style of leadership.
In his address welcome, the chairman of the occasion; Hon Chief Innoposh Chikezie (Ochendo Ichida) lauds the WIGA women fondly called “umunwanyi Soludo” for their massive turnout and support during the Gubernatorial campaign and for voting Prof Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim while appreciating everyone who carved out time to attend the event.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Basic Education in the State–Prof Kate thanked WIGA women for coming out in large numbers to grace the event saying that it was a clear indication that the WIGA is popular and acceptable in the state.
Speaking further, Prof Omenugha, tasks WIGA women to be creative, enterprising and engage themselves in the various resourceful ways of life.
According Prof Omenugha, the era of impersonation has gone. She made an illustration with herself, some time ago, when it was call to remove her as the Commissioner for Education in the State but because of her dedication and conscientious she was retained. Prof Omenugha however, wish the women success in their life endeavours.
On his part, Hon Pete Ibida, member representing Njikoka II at Anambra State House Assembly assured the women of his continued support, expressed optimism that the Governor Elect Prof Charles Soludo whom he described as God’s Divine Gift to Ndi Anambra and entire Nation will consolidate on Good Governance and leadership.

Some of the awardees who graced the occasion are Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Dr. Agbodike Paschal Arinze, Anambra State House of Assembly Member representing Njikoka II– Hon Peter Ibida, Hon Prof Kate Omenugha –Basic Education Commissioner, Hon Uchenna Okafor Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Hon Chief Innoposh Chikezie (Ochendo Ichida), Hon. Sir Patrick Obalim Udoba who was ably represented by Comr David Emeka, Hon Chinedu Nwoye Glamour National Chairman of All Soludo Support Group (ASSG) and Convener Soludo Support Group ably represented by Hon Obi Ochije SA to Gov Willie on Community Liaison amongst others.
In their acceptance speeches, the awardees thanked the organizers of the event and WIGA women for recognising them.
Cutting of the victory party cake decorated with colorful WIGA designed branded name and joyful chant of song’s of praise by the women added glamour to the event.
